We went to that Card Show, it was in the DoomSkellar in the bottom of the Astrodome. When I walked through that door I had no idea there could possibly be that many cards in the world. This was a very small room compared to the convention centers they use for card shows these days. Probably not more than 15 dealers at the show. At this time I still didn't know that people really did this for a living, selling and buying baseball cards, what a life.
Being the packrat that I am I started buying and collecting any thing to do with sports, especially baseball. I even found a few card shops in Houston. Not good for me, I spent all my off time and all my money at the shops. Larry D. loved to see me drive up on Saturday morning.
Sure didn't know I would feed myself for years on baseball cards.
